Experience music, history, and remembrance woven together in a truly powerful setting.
Set within the Holocaust Rails Exhibit at the Sioux City Railroad Museum, Violins of Hope: Music in the Shadow of the Rails is an intimate chamber performance you won’t soon forget. Performed by the Sioux City Symphony String Quartet, the evening features works by composers like Erwin Schulhoff and Mieczysław Weinberg—artists whose lives and music were shaped by the Holocaust.
Using instruments from the Violins of Hope collection, this performance brings history to life through sound, including a moving rendition of Maurice Ravel’s Kaddish for solo violin.
Hosted by Music Director Ryan Haskins, this is more than a concert—it’s a moment to reflect, remember, and bear witness.
