Dakota Dunes

Tucked between the Missouri and Big Sioux rivers, Dakota Dunes is a master-planned community just over the South Dakota state line that seamlessly blends businesses and residential properties. About a 10-minute drive from Sioux City, this little gem is a golfer’s paradise, boasting two golf courses (one world-famous!), biking trails, and restaurants.

South Sioux City

Nestled right next to Iowa and South Dakota in the Tri-State Region is South Sioux City, NE, “Where Quality of Life is a Cardinal Rule!” We are the portal to two Nebraska Scenic Byways: The Lewis and Clark Scenic Byway and the Outlaw Trail. Combs School was built in 1857 and closed in 1964. The frame schoolhouse is part of Nebraska’s pioneer heritage- the oldest school building in Dakota County and one of the oldest in Nebraska. The O’Connor House is a 14-room mansion located 1 mile east of Homer. Constructed over a 10-year period from 1865-1875, the mansion was built on a rock. Listed on the National Register of Historic places, it is run by the Dakota County Historical Society. Scenic Park has a YMCA, tennis court, swimming pool, 5 softball/baseball fields, 15 soccer fields and miles of paved walking and biking trails.

The NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship will stay at the Tyson Events Center through 2029! That’s four more years of incredible student-athletes, unforgettable moments, and championship basketball right here in Sioux City. 🏆

Sioux City has proudly hosted this championship for nearly three decades, and this extension is a testament to our volunteers, leaders, and fans who make every March unforgettable.

Thank you to the NAIA for continuing this amazing partnership—we can’t wait for tipoff in 2026 and beyond! ⛹️‍♀️✨

We`re continuing our celebration of National Arts & Humanities Month at Sioux City’s crown jewel of the performing arts. Built in 1927 and beautifully restored to its original grandeur, the Orpheum is more than a venue — it’s a living piece of Siouxland’s cultural history. From the shimmering chandeliers to the ornate gold leaf details, every inch of the theatre tells a story of creativity and craftsmanship.

Today, the Orpheum hosts Broadway tours, live concerts, comedy, ballet, and performances by the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, keeping the arts thriving in the heart of downtown. 🎶
