Destination marketing has changed dramatically over the past 25 years, and today it plays a much larger role in supporting our community, local businesses, and overall quality of life in Siouxland.
We’d love to invite you to join us for a special presentation featuring Bill Geist, author of Destination Leadership and host of the nationally recognized DMOU Podcast, on Monday, February 16, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
During this presentation, Bill will share how destination marketing organizations have evolved from a narrow focus on “heads in beds” to becoming true community marketing and quality-of-life leaders. He’ll highlight real-world success stories from destinations across the Midwest and discuss what this evolution means for Siouxland.
This session is open to the public and designed for attractions, restaurants, hotels, event venues, and community partners who care about strengthening our region and working together to attract visitors in ways that benefit residents and businesses alike.
Topics include:
- What is Explore Siouxland?
- What do Destination Marketing Organizations (DMO) do?
- How can we work together to promote our amazing community?
In addition to the presentation, we are also offering optional small-group appointments for partners who would like to meet directly with Bill Geist and Stacie Anderson, interim Executive Director of Explore Siouxland, to discuss questions specific to their organization. For example:
- A museum or attraction may want to explore attraction marketing strategies
- A hotel partner may want to discuss group travel or visitor trends
- A restaurant or retailer may want to better understand how tourism promotion supports local business traffic
These smaller conversations are meant to be practical, personalized, and focused on your unique needs. If you’re interested in scheduling a small-group meeting, please reach out to Stacie directly at stacie@exploresiouxland.com.
We hope you’ll join us for this opportunity to learn, connect, and be part of a shared vision for Siouxland’s future and look forward to seeing you on February 16.
