Let’s get ready for Spring- swap some plants, enjoy some beers, and learn about our local native species. Whether your passion is pheasants, pollinators, or filling your house with tiny plant babies- this will be a fun day focused on keeping our little corner of the world full of plants!
Plant Swap and Seed Share: Bring your excess plants and seeds from home to exchange with fellow gardening enthusiasts. House plants, veggies, clippings, seeds, pots- whatever you got, come swamp it!
Seed Bomb Making: These balls of clay, soil, and native wildflower seeds are perfect for guerrilla gardening and promoting pollinator habitats in unexpected places. A fun way for all ages!
Plant your own Pollinator Garden: Learn practical tips for creating your own pollinator garden or prairie oasis, whether you have acres of land or just a small balcony. Catherine from Pheasants Forever will be presenting on this, using the brewery’s own pollinator plots as examples. Loess Hills Wild Ones will be on site with more info and access to native plant expertise.
Raised Beds and Rain Barrels: Brainstorming and materials. Thinking about tackling one this season? Check out our how-to area and snag some free pallet wood and other discarded materials.
Plus other fun family friendly plant activities!
And it’s no secret the JBS crew is a bunch of plant nerds. Enjoy a beer or two made from local ingredients, like our Aronia Berry Wheat Ale! This super fruit is super amazing and grows right in Siouxland !
Thistle be an event to remember, We can’t wait to tree you there!
