Dakota Dunes
Tucked between the Missouri and Big Sioux rivers, Dakota Dunes is a master-planned community just over the South Dakota state line that seamlessly blends businesses and residential properties. South Sioux City
Nestled right next to Iowa and South Dakota in the Tri-State Region is South Sioux City, NE, “Where Quality of Life is a Cardinal Rule!” We are the portal to two Nebraska Scenic Byways: The Lewis and Clark Scenic Byway and the Outlaw Trail. Combs School was built in 1857 and closed in 1964. The frame schoolhouse is part of Nebraska’s pioneer heritage- the oldest school building in Dakota County and one of the oldest in Nebraska. The O’Connor House is a 14-room mansion located 1 mile east of Homer. Constructed over a 10-year period from 1865-1875, the mansion was built on a rock. Listed on the National Register of Historic places, it is run by the Dakota County Historical Society. Scenic Park has a YMCA, tennis court, swimming pool, 5 softball/baseball fields, 15 soccer fields and miles of paved walking and biking trails.
